Melazzo, Piazza XX Settembre

At the top of an ancient village of Alto Monferrato, already lapped by the sea wind that crosses the Apennines, stands the castle of Melazzo surrounded by a vast park and imposing

Alla sommità dii un antico borgo dell'Alto Monferrato, già lambito dal vento del mare che scavalca gli appennini, si erge il castello di Melazzo circondato da un vasto parco e da imponenti
bastioni merlati, che custodisce un passato denso di avvenimenti e presenze antiche. In ottime condizioni strutturali e di manutenzione, in gran parte originale anche internamente.
Le sue origini risalgono al XI secolo, edificato dai Conti di Acquesana. Fu un centro strategico per il controllo della valle d'Erro sulla via del mare. Vi nacque San Guido e, sempre al castello, è legata
la storia avventurosa di re Edoardo il Plantageto, deposto re in Inghilterra che qui soggiornò protetto dal papa dal 1330 al 1333.

An der Spitze eines alten Dorfes alto Monferrato, bereits von dem Meereswind, der den Apennin überquert, ist die Burg von Melazzo umgeben von einem weitläufigen Park und imposanten
zimierte Bastionen, die eine Vergangenheit voller antiker Ereignisse und Präsenzen bewahrt. Unter hervorragenden Bau- und Wartungsbedingungen, weitgehend originell auch intern.
Seine Ursprünge reichen bis ins 11. Jahrhundert zurück, erbaut von den Grafen von Acquesana. Es war ein strategisches Zentrum für die Kontrolle des Erro-Tals auf der Seeroute. St. Guy wurde dort geboren und ist, immer auf der Burg,
